As part of US Schneider Electric’s initiative to address Supply Chain related Data quality and Governance, a transactional, yet with data warehousing concepts included, system was needed. Therefore, the Customer Product Data (CPD) system was funded as a Product Information and Channel Marketing initiative under an approved BCFE and installed in 2004.  CPD is a centralized “electronic library” of technical, commercial and logistic product data at the part number level along with more than a million technical attributes and values originally extracted from the global legacy systems, refined and worked on initially to create enriched data, especially long descriptions based on certain criteria. These attributes and values were also leveraged to develop merchandized product selector applications for the US internet (full site and mobile site) called “i-Selector”.

1) Work done in Amazon AWS S3

We have delivered many Content Management Solutions using Amazon AWS cloud services via REST API and to provide content and meta-data management capabilities for all types of content. AWS offers multiple storage options, such as Simple Storage Service (S3) for object storage for a long-term archival need.

Data Migration:

    a) Documentum Enterprise Content Management to AWS S3:

dataZen Engineering helped to sunset legacy OpenText applications and migrated data from Documentum to Amazon AWS S3. We provided a new application framework to migrate the enterprise content and data directly from Documentum into AWS by writing full-stack applications. This allowed searching archived financial data allowing users to download necessary content and meta-data.

    b) Box to AWS S3

dataZen Engineering developed a highly customized solution to import upwards of 400+ TB of content and data from Box to AWS S3. dataZen Application Ingestion Engine (AIE) runs on EC2 AWS Servers that apply the principles of full stack APIs and provides the users the ability to search and download archived legal and financial content and meta-data.

 

2) CPD
Today, CPD is used today for price increases, product selectors, competitive cross reference, e-catalogs, in-store signage and the global data synchronization network (GDSN). It is also the Proxy for Square D brand data in global digital systems.

3) Business Value for Change
Where practical, redundant silo processes and inefficiencies were identified and consolidated, resulting in base cost avoidance moving forward. Increased accountability and traceability for this intellectual property of Schneider Electric were also be achieved.

4) dataZen BSL™
It is a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) web application which helps e-commerce companies to get updated product data of the products which are being sold in the e-commerce market place through wholesale distribution network primarily focused on the supply chain. dataZen BSL™ web application allows users to visualize the products, Search (Single and Multiple) parts with advanced functions, Order the product details, and Schedule the order, View 360 Images or other rich content and Analytics.

5) Documentum
We have delivered many Documentum Enterprise Content Management Solutions which provided content and meta-data management capabilities for all types of content. Documentum provides services such as document management, search, content classification, customer communication management, and Web content management.
